Helping Freelancers and Small Business Owners Build Financial Clarity and Confidence

I’m Marnie Kunz, a financial coach, writer, and CFP® candidate passionate about helping freelancers, soloprenuers, and small business owners take control of their money — without the jargon or overwhelm.

For years, I ran my own creative businesses — from writing and fitness coaching to managing blogs and online communities. I experienced firsthand the ups and downs of variable income, taxes, and saving while trying to grow a business. I also saw how much financial stress holds people back from doing the work and living the life they love.

That’s what inspired me to study financial planning and help others gain clarity, confidence, and peace of mind with their money.

I’ve worked as a volunteer financial coach with Women’s Money Matters, helping women gain confidence managing their money and building long-term financial stability. I’ve also completed two Amplified Planning externships, where I gained hands-on experience in real financial planning scenarios and client casework. These experiences have deepened my commitment to helping freelancers and small business owners feel empowered and supported in their financial journeys.

Today, I combine my background in coaching and entrepreneurship with the technical training of a future CFP® professional to help clients simplify their finances and build wealth on their terms.

When I’m not studying or working with clients, you can find me running through Brooklyn, writing about wellness and money, or hanging out with my rescue dog.

Credentials & Training

I’m currently a CFP® certification candidate through NYU’s Dalton program, with plans to take the exam in March 2026. I’ve completed two summers of the Amplified Planning Externship, gaining hands-on experience building financial plans and working through real client scenarios. I also volunteer as a financial coach with Women’s Money Matters, helping women build confidence and clarity around their finances.

Before moving into finance, I earned my B.A. in English from Knox College, where my love of clear communication and storytelling began — skills I now use to help clients understand and take charge of their financial stories.
